Procare only appoints candidates who meet the minimum requirements as stipulated in the company's Recruitment and Selection Policy.

Individuals who wish to join the agency are put through a strenuous selection procedure which includes:

  • a written test to establish theoretical knowledge

  • an interview with a clinical training specialist to establish practical knowledge and experience

  • reference checks

  • confirmation of registration with SANC (if applicable) and other relevant authorities​

The following certified documents are required when applying to register with Procare:

  • copy of your Identity Document

  • copy of your certificate of registration with the South African Nursing Council or Ancillary Healthcare/ Home-Based Care certificate

  • SANC receipt

  • BLS certification (ENs and RNs) or CPR for professionals certification (ENAs and Careworkers) accredited by the American Heart Association

  • proof of Hepatitis B immunisation or laboratory report proving Hepatitis B immunity

Work experience required when applying to register with Procare:

  • Careworkers and ENAs require at least 1-year of working experience as an ENA/Careworker

  • ENs and RNs require at least 2 years of working experience as a RN/EN

Please note that experience gained during training does not count as work experience.

If you have not yet obtained BLS/CPR certification, you are welcome to attend a course at the Procare offices. Please contact us for available dates and costs
